I'm keeping busy with Cora and a few photography projects.

Here's my beautiful babe:

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_jCTk30Ra4Uo/S9e7VZXWUmI/AAAAAAAAAEE/iH99DRbmzcM/s320/DSCN4707_edited-1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5465042649097851490" />

Cora has been crawling now for about 2 days. I haven't had a free moment to update this darn thing.

This baby is growing like a weed! I feel huge, and it's really starting to get uncomfy. I've been going to the hospital every week for non-stress tests, just to be sure there's enough fluid in there, and that the baby's heart and growth are healthy. So far so good! And we found out via ultrasound that this little girl has hair! Danny blames all the pork chops he's been force-feeding me.

I also found out that my baby will be coming sooner than later. My doctor says that as soon as they can confirm by an amnio test that the baby's lungs are developed, they want her out - regardless of how close I am to my due date. So if my body cooperates, and I'm progressing on my own, they will induce me asap. Or if I'm not progressing, they will schedule a c-section. It's a scary thought, but I'm willing to do what it takes to have a healthy little one.

We had the baby shower and it was a smashing good time! Now the trick is finding somewhere to stash all this baby stuff in our teeny house! I have my work cut out for me for the next few weeks. This is my last week of work, so I'll have plenty of time to wrap things up around the house. Here's hoping I have the energy, too!

IT'S A GIRL!

Our big ultrasound was on Wednesday, and we found out we're having a girl! We had scheduled our ultrasound for tomorrow, but had to postpone it for a month! Stupid insurance anyways. So it's still anyone's guess what we are having, though I am leaning toward a girl. I have no preference really, I just keep dreaming about baby girls. Last night I dreamed we had a girl and named her Raisin. Hmmm...

But there are definitely good things going on for us right now. Danny loves his new job at Nature's Way. We are slowly getting little things done in preparation for bringing a baby into our already squishy house. And I have started walking to work, which is great - physical activity always gets put on the backburner for me. Which reminds me... Friday night we went to Art City Trolley for dinner and when we were done, the truck wouldn't start. So we had to walk the 20 blocks back home at 10pm. I love adventures, and I love my wonderful husband even more. It's like I told him - I would rather be there walking down the street in the cold than with anyone else in Paris. I'm a lucky chick.

Baby update, sorta.

Today was the second visit to the baby doctor. I have a hard time keeping big secrets, and while I try to be cautious, I just can't hold it in.

I found out on December 27th. I honestly don't remember why I bought a pregnancy test because I really didn't think I was pregnant. So it was a totally casual thing; Danny was in the shower at the time. I saw those two pink lines appear and just stood there in the bathroom staring at it with my mouth hanging open. I didn't know how to tell Danny, so I just stuck the stick into the shower and waited for him to notice. It wasn't long until he poked his head around the shower curtain, his eyes wide open, and saw me grinning. I just stood there and laughed, really not believing what I was seeing. Danny made me stay in the bathroom until he was done showering so that I wouldn't go tell my sister, who was there at the time. It was hot and humid, but somehow, I didn't mind.

This pregnancy has been not only a shock, but a big worry on my mind lately. Having been just diagnosed with Diabetes, there are a whole string of problems that can come up. So I have been on pins and needles, waiting to find out if everything is ok. I've held myself back from feeling too excited about the baby, worrying that it might not work out. But I finally saw the doctor yesterday. Because of the increased risk, he ordered an early ultrasound. Usually, he doesn't do one until 20 weeks, but I went in last night. Danny met me at the clinic and together we saw our little bean-shaped guy on the monitor. It was absolutely surreal! The baby is down where it needs to be, has a perfect heartbeat, and is officially 8 weeks 4 days old! That puts my due date at August 29th. Looks like a long summer ahead!

So I have put off creating a blog, even though it has been on my to do list for some time. I guess now that we have some news, and things to keep people updated on, I decided to start. I promise pictures to follow, as well. Especially when the little tater-pants arrives!

On an unrelated side note, we have mice in the house. They actually wake me up with their nasty scratching and I am so grossed out! But we have traps down, and hopefully I will see some dead ones today.
