What's going on with us.

Figure I'll start being better about my lil blog here.

Danny, Cora, and I are doing so well. We're only just feeling a bit better after a pretty bad cold that we all shared. Danny is keeping busy with truck repairs and work. I'm keeping busy with Cora and a few photography projects.

Here's my beautiful babe:

Cora has been crawling now for about 2 days. The new mobility is making my job a bit harder, but I don't mind. She is also learning to nod "yes" and shake her head "no". When she nods, she rocks on her bum and it's cute... but she thinks it's funnier to shake her head.

I will try to keep this updated, as I know there are SOOO many people who follow it, yeah right. Maybe if there were anything to read, there would be someone to read it. So it's a new goal. We'll see.

Updates

So I'm a terrible blogger. I haven't had a free moment to update this darn thing.

This baby is growing like a weed! I feel huge, and it's really starting to get uncomfy. I've been going to the hospital every week for non-stress tests, just to be sure there's enough fluid in there, and that the baby's heart and growth are healthy. So far so good! And we found out via ultrasound that this little girl has hair! Danny blames all the pork chops he's been force-feeding me.

I also found out that my baby will be coming sooner than later. My doctor says that as soon as they can confirm by an amnio test that the baby's lungs are developed, they want her out - regardless of how close I am to my due date. So if my body cooperates, and I'm progressing on my own, they will induce me asap. Or if I'm not progressing, they will schedule a c-section. It's a scary thought, but I'm willing to do what it takes to have a healthy little one.

We had the baby shower and it was a smashing good time! Now the trick is finding somewhere to stash all this baby stuff in our teeny house! I have my work cut out for me for the next few weeks. This is my last week of work, so I'll have plenty of time to wrap things up around the house. Here's hoping I have the energy, too!

IT'S A GIRL!

Our big ultrasound was on Wednesday, and we found out we're having a girl! (I knew it... but since it's a 50/50 shot, I can't take that much credit.) So now we can start thinking of names, thinking about the nursery... eh. I am so excited!

Bump.

So it's official. My bump is showing! It's been popped for a couple weeks, really, but I finally got a picture I'm not ashamed of.

Things are going pretty well for us. We're still bummed that we have to wait so long for the big ultrasound, but the time is actually flying by! Not much to say, but I thought I would post the big belly for those of you who haven't seen me in a while...

waiting game

So a bit of bad news. We had scheduled our ultrasound for tomorrow, but had to postpone it for a month! Stupid insurance anyways. So it's still anyone's guess what we are having, though I am leaning toward a girl. I have no preference really, I just keep dreaming about baby girls. Last night I dreamed we had a girl and named her Raisin. Hmmm...

But there are definitely good things going on for us right now. Danny loves his new job at Nature's Way. We are slowly getting little things done in preparation for bringing a baby into our already squishy house. And I have started walking to work, which is great - physical activity always gets put on the backburner for me. Which reminds me... Friday night we went to Art City Trolley for dinner and when we were done, the truck wouldn't start. So we had to walk the 20 blocks back home at 10pm. I love adventures, and I love my wonderful husband even more. It's like I told him - I would rather be there walking down the street in the cold than with anyone else in Paris. I'm a lucky chick.

Baby update, sorta.

Today was the second visit to the baby doctor. Danny came with me this time, and I am so glad he did! We got to hear the little whoosh-whoosh of the heartbeat (which Danny can do a perfect impression of, by the way). Then the doctor showed me a plastic baby the size of my baby now. It was so crazy - way bigger and heavier than I thought. It just reminded me again that this is all real and we are actually going to have a little one in the house! I just hope the house is ready for it!

I really need to find my camera cords so I can post some pictures...

Four down...

For anyone who wants an update on my mouse situation...
So far, we have killed four. One in a glue trap = gross. Then we tried the old-fashioned snap traps and got on within about 15 minutes of putting it down. And then yesterday, I came home from work and there were two mice caught in a single snap trap. Danny gets all the credit, since he is the one who picked them up and threw them away. I am so in love.
